Trail Running

Rolling hills, forest singletrack, and well-maintained paths offer everything from casual jogs to ultra-distance challenges.

    Trail Systems

    Birkie Trail

The 100+ kilometer American Birkebeiner Trail system is open year-round and serves as the backbone for trail running in the area. Rolling terrain through hardwood and pine forests between Hayward and Cable. Ideal for long runs and race training. Multiple trailheads provide flexible access for runs of any distance.

    CAMBA Singletrack

Many mountain bike trails maintained by CAMBA are also excellent for trail running. The flowing singletrack through the national forest offers a more technical, immersive experience than the wider ski trails.
