Bayfield Apple Picking — Fall Day Trip

Take a day trip from Hayward or Cable to Bayfield, Wisconsin for apple picking on the shores of Lake Superior. The Bayfield peninsula is home to dozens of orchards producing apples, pears, and fresh cider each fall.

What to Do

• Pick apples at local orchards (mid-August through October)
• Sample fresh cider and local wines
• Browse shops and galleries in downtown Bayfield
• Visit the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore visitor center
• Bayfield Apple Festival (first weekend of October)

Getting There

Bayfield is about 90 minutes north of Hayward via Highway 63. A scenic drive through the Northwoods with lake and forest views.
